#Data $ATER Shorts Forced to Cover at Higher Costs @The_RockTrading $IPOF $IPOD $ESSC

TRT has been on the $ATER train now for a few weeks!

It has certainly been a blast riding the profits from burning shorts in this stock.

Today’s $ATER update will provide a short look into the ORTEX data release for 7am today.

What is Ortex Anyway?

ORTEX brings you the most timely and accurate Short interest data available. ORTEX short interest data is sourced from the world’s largest combined pool of agent lenders, prime brokers, and broker-dealers who submit their inventory. ORTEX provides intra-day and historical data for days to cover, shares on loan, utilization rate, cost of borrowing, and free float on loan. ORTEX also provides all relevant US exchange data and relevant institutional short holdings flags so users can access all the information available in one place.”

What is a Threshold List, And Why is it Important?

“A threshold list, also known as a Regulation SHO Threshold Security List, is a list of securities whose transactions failed to clear during the previous trading days. Threshold lists are published in accordance with regulations set out by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Regulators review this information as part of their efforts to detect market manipulation.”

Stocks on the threshold list may or may not be trading with naked short selling. Naked shorting is the illegal practice of short-selling shares that have not been affirmatively determined to exist. Ordinarily, traders must borrow a stock or determine that it can be borrowed before they sell it short.

What is Short Interest?

“Extremely high short interest shows investors are very pessimistic (potentially overly-pessimistic). When investors are overly-pessimistic it can lead to very sharp price rises at times. Large changes in the short interest also flash warning signs, as it shows investors may be turning more bearish or bullish on a stock.”

“Short interest is used as a sentiment indicator: an increase in short interest often signals that investors have become more bearish, while a decrease in short interest signals they have become more bullish.”

What is Cost to Borrow?

“Since the investor doesn’t own the security, he typically borrows it from a broker/dealer and short sells it in the market. On the future date, the investor will purchase the security from the market at the current market price and return it to the lender. If the stock price has fallen, the investor will make a profit in the deal.

The investor also has to pay a fee to the lender for the borrowed stock, which is known as the borrowing costs.
